We have been blessed with Irene our 89+ year young Flower Angel with the energy and attitude of a young women. When we opened, she called to become a volunteer, we welcomed her with open arms and she hasn’t missed a day! Everyone looks forward to working with her. What an inspiration she is to all of the volunteers! She jumps in and does all of the many tasks required to make our workshop run smoothly. She is the first to arrive and the last to leave when she feels the workshop clean-up is completed. She arrives every Monday, we give her our hugs then she works non stop while entertaining us with her wonderful humor. She recently confided that her husband told her he loved her when he asked her to marry him. Years later she asked him if he still loved her. His response was “I told you I loved you once. If that changes I’ll let you know”! (I bet you are chuckling from heaven regarding this, Bill)! Irene is a precious woman—-how fortunate we are to have her on our team! We love you Irene.

This little light of mine…I’m gonna let it shine…
Michael is the cheery Activities Director at the EPOCH Harwich nursing home and exceptional he is. He accompanies the Flower Angels to each room and always has kind loving words to say to make every patient feel extra special. They beam when they see him.
Mara is our joyful flower angel deconstructor and bouquet arranger. She especially loves delivering flowers to patients. In addition she is our GPS navigator, our photographer and our workshop DJ, an awesome member of our wonderful team.
She looks like an angel…
Flower Angel Davia is often the leader of our band of Flower Angels. She has a wonderful upbeat spirit and does an awesome job organizing and doing the many tasks that need to be accomplished in our workshop to make it all work smoothly. She regularly and cheerfully delivers to the patients in many nursing homes from Provincetown to Bourne. On Monday we had 9 volunteers working away non stop for 2.5 hours to accomplish the beautiful 104 bouquets needed to deliver to Pleasant Bay and EPOCH Brewster nursing homes today. Our wonderful flower angels made the most magnificent bouquets with the tons of flowers donated from our generous and loyal floral provider, Trader Joes. Because we had 2 SUV loads of beautiful flowers donated to us from newly weds, Molly and John, this past weekend, our angels happily went to work making additional petite bouquets for the Yarmouth Senior Center Meals On Wheels clients. Our workshop is a sight to behold and never ceases to amaze me! Our mission of delivering random acts of love, sunshine and joy to the people in nursing homes who have been forgotten by society would not be possible without our amazing dedicated volunteers.
Flower Angel Rock Stars on a mission!
This has been an exciting, busy week for Flower Angels. Since May we have delivered close 1700 bouquets. Flowers + Flower Angels = Many Happy People!
On Tuesday Mara, Suzanne and Karen were interviewed on Cape Cod Broadcasting to be aired on 4 stations on the Sunday Morning Journal.
Mara was so thrilled to meet and hug all of her favorite radio personalities. We were grateful to have been invited to spread the word about Flower Angels USA’s mission. It was an exciting morning!
Thursday evening David Roth, an amazingly talented musician hosted the Full Moon Open Mic night at the Harwich Community Center. The money collected benefitted Flower Angels USA. The many awesome musicians and poets were enjoyable including our very own Alan Ginsberg! We are grateful for David’s kindness and everyone’s support of our mission.
Friday night Flower Angel Suzanne was the guest speaker at the Friday Club in Yarmouthport. This incredible philanthropic organization of women with exceptional skills has been in operation since 1901, long before women were allowed to purchase property! Many people wonder what this small historical white house on route 6A with a sign Friday Club is and so did we. Then one fine day at a We Can benefit Anne, a delightful woman and Friday Club member, invited us to attend their dinner and be the guest speaker. Suzanne was thrilled to share a few hours with a lovely group of dedicated women who help many others on Cape Cod.
